Go Bananas Before A Workout
If you’re not crazy about sports drinks, listen to this: A banana can provide the same energy-fueling carbs found in that sugary Gatorade, according to a recent study from the North Carolina Research Campus. While I’ll always use my gels for long runs, I’ll often substitute a banana before other runs. It gives me a good energy boost and provides some variety. I also get antioxidants, fiber, potassium and vitamin B6. And, it’s coming straight from nature–even better.
